Sims Rival Paralives Gets off to a Fast Start
Paralives, a game that has long been awaited by players eager for an alternative in the life simulation genre, has finally launched in early access. Claiming to be an alternative to The Sims 4, the game has made a very strong start on Steam in its first few hours. Paralives has already generated considerable interest among fans of the genre, both with its number of concurrent players and its initial user reviews.
Paralives Makes a Strong Start on Steam
Just a few hours after its early access launch, Paralives reached 78,603 concurrent players on Steam. Moreover, this number was achieved during hours when many players were at work or school. Therefore, there is talk of the game potentially reaching an even higher peak in the evenings or throughout the week. The hunger for the life simulation genre has once again become evident with this launch.
Initial reviews of the game are generally positive. Many players praise Paralives’ open-world structure, art style, customization options, modding tools, and RPG elements. Of course, being in early access, animation errors, lags, and various bugs are also being discussed. However, a significant number of players say they enjoy the core experience the game offers despite these shortcomings.
Negative reviews mostly criticize the gameplay pace and the fact that some systems are not yet fully developed. Some players feel that the game is too feature-focused, but the daily gameplay feels a bit slow and empty at the moment. They specifically mention that the action sequence system and character interactions need to be made more fluid.
Nevertheless, the initial picture for Paralives is quite promising. InZoi also reached 87,377 concurrent players at launch but struggled to maintain interest afterward. Therefore, Paralives’ real test will be retaining players with future updates after this strong start. For now, it seems that life simulation enthusiasts have found a truly noteworthy new contender besides The Sims.
