Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Will be The Best Movie in the Series
While Sonic movies haven’t always received rave reviews from critics, they’ve managed to carve out a solid place for themselves among audiences. Now, all eyes are on Sonic the Hedgehog 4. Director Jeff Fowler announced on social media that filming is complete and post-production has begun. Furthermore, according to Fowler, the team may have made the best Sonic movie to date.
Expectations are Growing for Sonic The Hedgehog 4
One of the most striking details in Jeff Fowler’s post was Metal Sonic. The director shared a photo with the character, expected to be the main threat in the new film, sending a small but effective message to fans. How Metal Sonic would be adapted to the live-action universe has been a subject of much speculation, and the initial impression is that the character has been transferred to this universe quite well.
While the previous three films in the series didn’t achieve top-rated critics, they were quite successful at the box office and among fans. Sonic the Hedgehog 3, in particular, stood out as the most beloved film in the series based on user ratings. Therefore, Fowler’s claim of a “best Sonic movie” sets the bar quite high. If the fourth film truly lives up to expectations, it could be a significant turning point for the Sonic cinematic universe.
The cast also looks quite strong. Ben Schwartz continues to voice Sonic, while Keanu Reeves returns as Shadow, Idris Elba as Knuckles, and Colleen O’Shaughnessey as Tails. Kristin Bell’s addition to the cast as Amy is also noteworthy. Considering the ending of the previous film, Amy is expected to play a very significant role in this new adventure.
Jim Carrey’s return as Dr. Robotnik is also good news for fans. The film is scheduled for release on March 19, 2027, so there’s still some time to wait. Nevertheless, the completion of filming, the appearance of Metal Sonic, and the director’s ambitious statement have already made Sonic the Hedgehog 4 the most anticipated film in the series.
