Splinter Cell fans are left without Sam Fisher

Fans of the Splinter Cell series have been waiting for a new game for years. However, in the 12 years that have passed, Sam Fisher has only appeared in cameo roles in other games. Now, Fisher is back in the spotlight with the special content prepared for Ghosts of Tabor, reminding players once again, but a new Splinter Cell game is still nowhere to be seen.

Sam Fisher is Coming to Ghosts of Tabor

According to Insider Gaming, the Ghosts of Tabor DLC, prepared in collaboration with Ubisoft, includes many Splinter Cell-themed items. Players will be able to use Sam Fisher’s iconic outfit and equipment with this pack. The content included in the DLC is as follows:

  • Karambit melee weapon
  • FN 57 weapon camouflage
  • MP7 weapon camouflage
  • Third Echelon night vision goggles
  • Third Echelon tactical vest
  • Third Echelon suit

Thanks to this content, players will be able to relive the Splinter Cell atmosphere in the VR-based Ghosts of Tabor. However, Sam Fisher himself or Michael Ironside’s voice are not included in this package.

This has become commonplace for Splinter Cell fans. We haven’t seen a new Splinter Cell game since Blacklist, which came out in 2013. Instead, Fisher appeared as an operator in Rainbow Six Siege, in special missions in Ghost Recon Wildlands and Breakpoint, with the Echelon faction in XDefiant, and in the Splinter Cell anime on Netflix.

There are a total of six main Splinter Cell games, and eight when the PSP version and the HD Trilogy are included. In contrast, in recent years, Fisher’s appearances in cameos and spin-off content have become more frequent than in the main games. Moreover, the constant delays of the announced Splinter Cell Remake due to director changes are further testing fans’ patience.

For the Splinter Cell community, the picture is clear: Sam Fisher is still present in the gaming world, but not in his own series. For those waiting for a new Splinter Cell game, these cameos are nothing more than temporary consolation.
