Taxi Chaos 2 was surprisingly released on Xbox
Taxi Chaos 2, despite not being on the list of games coming to Xbox this weekend, was surprisingly released on the Xbox Store today. Coming as a true “shadow drop,” the game is a sequel to the first Taxi Chaos released in 2021 and aims to combine arcade taxi driving with more modern ideas.
Taxi Chaos 2 Comes with AI TaxiBots
The first Taxi Chaos was heavily compared to SEGA’s legendary Crazy Taxi series, and therefore received mixed reactions. The sequel comes with a more ambitious approach. In Taxi Chaos 2, the city is now governed by autonomous TaxiBots, and players not only race against time but also against ruthless AI opponents that react according to their driving style.
The game features a Story Mode consisting of 12-minute shifts. This mode includes different objectives, unlockable content, and progression-based missions. For those who want a purer arcade experience, there’s a completely score-focused Arcade Mode. Additionally, various combat and support abilities usable against TaxiBots add a more dynamic feel compared to the previous installment.
Taxi Chaos 2 also offers a progression system where new vehicles, abilities, and cosmetic content can be unlocked throughout the gameplay. Set in the city of San Valeda, the game promises a different experience with constantly changing road conditions, traffic density, and dangers in each shift.
While it’s difficult to make a definitive judgment about the game’s overall quality at this time, it’s definitely an interesting alternative for those who enjoy arcade driving games in the style of Crazy Taxi. Taxi Chaos 2 is available for Xbox Series X|S for £20.99 / $24.99.
