The New God of War Game Opens the Door to Ancient Greece and Egypt
Excitement is rising again on the God of War front. Especially after rumors of a remake of the trilogy and Santa Monica’s new project, all eyes were on the future of the series. Now, new content allegedly found in God of War files is giving important signals about the direction of the story. Although there is no official confirmation, the shared details point to a period where Ancient Greek and Egyptian mythology could meet.
God of War Leaks Offer Clues About Athena and Egypt
According to a data mining study shared on Reddit, some hidden scenes were found in the God of War Ragnarok files. The user, who previously claimed to have discovered content from the 2018 game that laid the groundwork for Ragnarok, now claims to have found new snippets that could point to the next game in the series. A scene featuring Athena, in particular, has brought the Ancient Greek connection back to the forefront.
Leaked footage shows Athena uttering a Greek phrase translated as “The white snake will eat you,” and also using the expressions “One failed us. One rejected us.” These words are thought to refer to Odin and Atreus. Athena being referred to as “Robed One” is interpreted as potentially pointing to higher powers. This strengthens the possibility of a cosmic conflict expanding within the God of War universe.
Another noteworthy detail is a scene where Atreus speaks with a character named “Mau.” “Mau” is suggested to be a reference to a sacred cat, one of the manifestations of the Sun God Ra in Ancient Egypt. The dialogue’s structure, consisting of single-word repetitions, suggests the character may have a symbolic role, fueling theories that the series could delve into Egyptian mythology.
Of course, all this information is not officially confirmed, and we are awaiting statements from Santa Monica. However, these leaks regarding God of War suggest that the series may not be limited solely to Norse mythology. If the claims are true, Kratos and Atreus’ paths may this time lead them both to their past and to a new realm of gods.
