The Poison Ivy Series is Joining Matt Reeves’ BatVerse Universe
A striking claim has emerged regarding the future of a new series centered around the character Poison Ivy. It’s suggested that instead of being part of the main DCU, the project will take place in the same universe as The Batman and The Penguin. While not yet officially announced, the production is reportedly progressing in development, and how the character will be adapted to Matt Reeves’ more realistic Batman world is already a subject of speculation.
Poison Ivy Series Could Be More Realistic Within the BatVerse
According to the new claim, the Poison Ivy series is continuing its development and the story will connect to Matt Reeves’ BatVerse universe. Thus, the production will share the same world as Robert Pattinson’s Batman but will not be considered part of the main DCU. There is no clear information yet on which time period the project will take place in or whether it will directly connect with other characters.
In the comics, Poison Ivy is portrayed as a character who can control plant life and occasionally possesses superhuman powers. This aspect makes her difficult to directly fit into the more realistic atmosphere established in The Batman and The Penguin franchises. Therefore, it’s thought that the series might reinterpret the character as a dangerous botanist stripped of her supernatural abilities, or as an environmentalist criminal.
However, it’s also suggested that The Batman sequel might incorporate more comic book elements than the original. Such an approach could open the door to metahumans or more unusual villains within the BatVerse. Nevertheless, instead of the classic version of Poison Ivy battling giant plants, a darker and more realistic interpretation using her scientific work for criminal purposes seems more likely.
It also remains unclear whether the character will be portrayed as a direct villain or an anti-hero in the series. In modern DC stories, Poison Ivy is treated not only as a Batman antagonist but also as a complex character who resorts to harsh methods to protect the environment. Since no official announcement has been made about the Poison Ivy series, details regarding the cast, release date, and storyline are currently based solely on speculation.
