Xbox has Started Testing New Monthly Tasks
Microsoft’s rewards system has been evolving with small but regular changes for a long time, but the latest testing indicates a new monthly task model on the Xbox side. This new task, seen with a limited number of users, aims to encourage multi-platform gaming and offers important clues about the system’s future.
A New Era in the Xbox Monthly Task System
The new task being tested is part of Microsoft Rewards and requires players to play games on console, PC, and the cloud within the same month. Completing the task earns users 150 points per month. It’s stated that at least 30 minutes of gameplay is required on each platform, and this system appears to be specifically aimed at increasing multi-platform usage.
Currently, this task is only available to a limited group of users. While some players in the US have reported being able to see and complete the task, many users say it’s not yet active. This suggests Xbox is conducting a small-scale testing phase before rolling out the new task structure globally.
Another noteworthy detail is that the task is only available to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers. This suggests Microsoft is increasingly leveraging the Rewards aspect to make its top subscription tier more attractive. While the points amount currently seems low, the cumulative effect of regular tasks can provide significant advantages in the long run.
Although there has been no official announcement, if this test receives positive feedback, the new monthly task model is expected to be rolled out to a wider audience. Xbox’s efforts to transform its Rewards system into a more cross-platform structure could directly impact players’ gaming habits in the future.
