You’ll Be Able to Create Your Own Map in Battlefield 6
Electronic Arts has announced a new feature for Battlefield 6 that fans will be excited about: an enhanced Portal experience. This system gives players the freedom to create their own game maps and rules, making the Battlefield universe more customizable than ever before. Portal mode, introduced in 2021 with Battlefield 2042, returns in the new game with even more powerful tools, an improved interface, and a reward system.
You Set the Rules, You Build the Map in Battlefield 6
Battlefield 6’s new Portal system gives players the opportunity to build their dream battle scenarios step by step. Now, you can play not only classic modes but also custom battlefields with your own unique rules and objectives. This mode allows you to create a chaos map played with single bullets or a melee combat using only knives.
This system offered by EA isn’t limited to just mod creation. All created game modes are fully integrated with the experience points (XP) and progression system. This means you can also earn badges and cosmetic rewards by playing in your own battles.
One of the most significant improvements coming with the Portal system is the user-friendly interface. EA emphasizes that community-created content will now be easier to find and share. This will make map and mod sharing more accessible for content creators.
However, this freedom of the system also brings some risks. The openness of XP earning could lead some players to exploit Portal to create “XP farms.” It remains unclear how EA will address these challenges.
Battlefield 6 will launch on October 10th on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC. The Portal system will be available from day one.
