Adria Arjona Could be the New Wonder Woman of the DCU

While the search for the new Wonder Woman for the DCU continues, a striking claim has emerged from behind the scenes. Adria Arjona, one of the names fans have long wanted to see in the role of Diana Prince, is reportedly being seriously considered by DC Studios. Although there’s no official statement, the claim quickly gained traction on social media.

Is Adria Arjona the First Choice for Wonder Woman?

According to information shared by the popular gossip platform DeuxMoi, DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn’s “number one choice” for the role of Wonder Woman is Adria Arjona. The film is currently in development and the script is being written by Supergirl writer Ana Nogueira. A director has not yet been announced for the project.

While DeuxMoi is primarily known for its gossip content, it has also made headlines in the past with some accurate film leaks. The claims that Barry Keoghan was being considered for the Joker role and that Lady Gaga was a candidate for Harley Quinn were first voiced by this account. Therefore, the Arjona rumor cannot be completely dismissed.

James Gunn previously stated that following Arjona on Instagram didn’t necessarily mean she wanted Wonder Woman. However, his statement that “She would make a great Wonder Woman” drew attention. It’s known that the two worked together years ago and have been friends ever since.

Arjona herself gave a very clear message when asked about the role. At a gala, her pointing to her phone and saying “Summer… help me” in response to a question was interpreted as her being open to the role. It’s known that Wonder Woman is among DC’s priority projects. However, it seems we’ll have to wait a little longer for a final decision.
