Assassin’s Creed Hexe Cannot Be Shared Within the Company
Since Assassin’s Creed Hexe was first announced in 2022, Ubisoft hasn’t provided any concrete details. However, insider information and leaks suggest the series is moving away from its massive RPG structure of recent years towards a more linear and darker experience. Considering the criticisms regarding the content density in games like Valhalla, this approach has attracted the attention of many players. However, recent developments have also raised questions about the project.
High Expectations for Assassin’s Creed Hexe
The departure of creative director Clint Hocking naturally drew attention to Hexe. The departure of someone who worked on projects like Watch Dogs: Legion and Far Cry 2 may have created uncertainty from an outsider’s perspective. However, according to Tom Henderson of Insider Gaming, Assassin’s Creed Hexe is the most desired project within Ubisoft. In fact, it’s being said within the company that the game is in a very good position.
The replacement of Hocking with Jean Guesdon, who served as creative director on Assassin’s Creed Black Flag and Origins, strengthens claims of a return to the series’ roots. Ubisoft’s official statement only emphasized that the game will offer a “very different” experience in the series. Detailed gameplay information has yet to be shared.
According to leaks, Assassin’s Creed Hexe will be set in 16th-century Germany, during the height of the witch hunts. A new character named Ella will be central, and supernatural elements will be prominent. There’s also talk of using an enhanced version of the horror system from Syndicate’s Jack the Ripper DLC, strengthening the possibility of a darker Assassin’s Creed atmosphere.
Regarding the release date, the picture is unclear. Rumors suggest it could arrive after the Black Flag remake and the Invictus multiplayer project, at the earliest in 2027. Although official information is limited, Assassin’s Creed Hexe is already being talked about as one of the most anticipated projects within Ubisoft.
