Battlefield 6 Playtest Footage Starts to Hit the Internet
Battlefield 6, developed by Electronic Arts and DICE, has been a long-awaited production. Following the Battlefield Labs playtest process that began this week, the first images of the game have been leaked to the internet. The videos spread on Reddit and other platforms include the first clues about the game’s gameplay mechanics and environmental designs. Fans found the shared images promising and pointed out that the game was inspired by previous Battlefield games.
Battlefield 6’s Testing Process
The playtest conducted under the name Battlefield Labs mainly focuses on weapon use and player movements. Although Electronic Arts tried to keep the testing process quite secret, the leak of the images rendered these efforts ineffective. Among the videos recorded during the test, the game’s destructible environmental mechanics and conflict dynamics stand out. Players commenting on the shared images stated that the game looks like a mix of Battlefield 3, Battlefield 4 and 2042. It is stated that the destruction effects and gameplay dynamics combine the beloved aspects of the series’ old games with modern graphics.
The leaked footage has caused a huge stir in the Battlefield community. One user on Reddit commented, “This game looks like a baby of Battlefield 3, Battlefield V, and 2042, but definitely in a good way.” Another comment noted that the game’s destruction mechanics are quite “promising.”
In addition, an analysis on ResetEra shared some details about the game’s gameplay. The game appears to return familiar features from Battlefield 4, such as class loadouts and in-game perks. It was also noticed that there is a system where ammo and health packs are distributed from the same inventory.
The leaked videos show that the game is still in development and that it is still a long time away from release. However, this has not stopped Battlefield 6 from being received positively by players. Although there has been no official statement from EA and DICE yet, these images paint a promising picture of the game’s development. Battlefield 6’s official release date has yet to be announced, but testing and leaked footage suggest the game could be a big comeback for fans of the series.
