Battlefield 6 Season 3 Adds the Biggest Map in the Series

Battlefield 6 is preparing to offer players a very extensive content pack with Season 3. The new season, releasing on May 12th, brings back the Golmud Railway map, familiar to Battlefield 4 fans. However, this return won’t be a simple copy; the map will be added to the game in a significantly revamped form under the name Railway to Golmud.

What Does Battlefield 6 Season 3 Bring?

The biggest innovation of the new season is Railway to Golmud, which will be Battlefield 6’s largest map to date. The original Golmud Railway in Battlefield 4 was one of the series’ most memorable maps with its vast areas, vehicle combat, and moving train point. In the Battlefield 6 version, the map has been redesigned to suit more modern gameplay.

The train in the center of the map will again play a significant role as a mobile capture point. However, this time there are some changes to the train’s operation. More carriages, better cover areas, and parkour opportunities have been added. Also, the train will now move towards the enemy headquarters, not the side that captures it. This change could keep the conflicts around the train more active throughout the map.

Significant adjustments have also been made to other areas of Railway to Golmud. New buildings, additional cover points, more verticality, and different flank attack opportunities seem to change the pace of the map. This aims to make not only vehicle combat but also infantry fighting more balanced and intense.

New weapons and attachments are also coming to the game with the new season. The new weapon list is as follows:

  • L115 – Sniper rifle
  • M16A4 – Assault rifle
  • RPK-74M – Submachine gun
  • PP-19 – Submachine gun

In addition, three new weapon attachments, a new game mode called Obliteration, and Ranked REDSEC are also among the Season 3 content. Looking at the overall picture, Battlefield 6, with its new season, is both playing on nostalgia and trying to strengthen its competitive and large-scale battle structure.
