Battlefield 6 was left without content during the holiday season
Battlefield 6 had a surprisingly quiet holiday season. Following the winter event, the game received no significant updates, and EA and DICE released a new battle pass exclusively for paid BF Pro subscribers, sparking considerable dissatisfaction within the community.
Battlefield 6 BF Pro Battle Pass Draws Criticism
The new BF Pro battle pass, already targeting a limited audience due to its subscriber-only availability, was deemed excessively grindy by players because it was only available for 7 days. Many players found it unrealistic that content had to be completed in such a short time during the holiday season.
The rewards offered by the Battle Pass also fell short of expectations. The final Desert Locusts assault class costume, a few cosmetic items, and gear XP boosters offered little in the way of significant new features. The lack of any double XP events during the holiday period also fueled criticism.
The technical aspects of the system were also a focus of criticism. Players stated that the tokens earned from weekly missions were insufficient to complete the Battle Pass, making it almost impossible to finish in its current state. Whether this is a design flaw or a planned FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) approach remains unclear.
All these developments have brought Battlefield 6’s post-launch content and directional problems back to the forefront. Given the significant drop in player numbers and the rise of competing titles, the view that Season 2 will be a critical turning point for the game is gaining traction. The community expects DICE to deliver large-scale, content-rich updates in keeping with the spirit of the series, rather than focusing solely on cosmetic solutions.
