Borderlands 4 Story Pack 1 Release Date Announced
Gearbox has shared new details about the first major content update for Borderlands 4. Previously, the content plan only specified time periods. However, with this latest announcement, the expected release date for Borderlands 4 Story Pack 1 has finally been clarified.
Borderlands 4 Story Pack 1 Content Revealed
According to Gearbox, Borderlands 4 Story Pack 1: Mad Ellie and the Vault of the Damned will be released on March 26, 2026. The new content pack will offer a standalone story campaign that expands the main game’s universe. The story will take players on a new adventure with the character Ellie to the Whispering Glacier region.
The new story will add a new Vault Hunter character, C4SH, to the game. C4SH will be playable not only in the new story chapter but also in the main game and other content areas. Gearbox also announced that a detailed gameplay preview for this character will be released on March 16th.
Story Pack 1 also adds a new map area to the game. This new area, called Whispering Glacier, will feature main quests as well as side quests, events, and collectibles. Players will also encounter two large boss battles, 15 mini-bosses, and a new enemy type.
The new content pack also brings significant additions to the equipment side. Players will receive 3 Pearlescent weapons, 11 new Legendary equipment items, and a total of 28 cosmetic items. In addition, one of the most notable features of the update will be the shared progression system. This system will allow characters on the same account to share map progression, rewards, and some progression elements.
