While discussions continued about how the game would run on PS5 and Xbox Series X, official technical information shared shortly before release finally clarified Crimson Desert’s performance targets on consoles.

Crimson Desert Will Offer Three Different Performance Modes on Consoles

According to the shared information, Crimson Desert will be playable on PS5 and Xbox Series X with three different performance modes: Performance, Balanced, and Quality. These modes allow players to choose between image quality and frame rate.

When Performance Mode is selected, the game will run at 1080p resolution with a target of 60 FPS. This mode is specifically designed for players who want smoother gameplay. These kinds of performance settings are frequently used in large open-world games today.

Balanced Mode, on the other hand, increases the resolution while slightly reducing the frame rate. In this mode, the game will offer approximately 40 FPS performance at the increased 4K resolution. This aims for both a clearer image and an experience that doesn’t completely lose its fluidity.

Quality Mode, which prioritizes visual quality, runs at a target of 30 FPS. It’s stated that this mode, especially on the PS5 Pro, will utilize true 4K resolution and more advanced ray tracing effects.

The announced system requirements for PC are also quite noteworthy. To run the game at 1080p 60 FPS, an RTX 2080 or RX 6700 XT, a Ryzen 5 5600 or i5-11600K processor, and 16 GB of RAM are recommended. More powerful hardware will be able to push the game to 4K 60 FPS.

Looking at the overall picture, Crimson Desert’s technical targets seem quite ambitious, but the shared performance values ​​are in line with modern AAA game standards. Players are now waiting for the actual gameplay footage to be released on consoles.
