Halo Campaign Evolved Reaches Final Pre-Launch Stage

It has been announced that the main development process for Halo Campaign Evolved is complete and the game is ready for release. This project, a complete reboot of the 2001 release Halo: Combat Evolved, features modern visuals and expanded gameplay options. However, allegations regarding the use of regenerative AI and the working conditions within the studio are causing expectations to be more cautious before release.

Halo Campaign Evolved Reaches Gold Status

Halo Studios announced that Halo Campaign Evolved has reached gold status. This stage means that the main development work on the game is complete and it is ready for production. The team will now focus on testing, performance adjustments, and final patches that can be released on launch day. Gold status does not guarantee that the game will be completely problem-free.

Halo Campaign Evolved will be released on July 28, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Early access players will be able to start their adventure five days earlier, on July 23rd. Microsoft has also confirmed that a physical disc version of the game will be available on release day. Pre-orders have already begun.

The remake will not only update visual quality. It will add nine new weapons, acquirable and usable vehicles, expanded difficulty options, and redesigned environmental designs. The development team aims to offer a broader range of content tailored to modern gameplay expectations while preserving the original Combat Evolved experience.

However, the development process of Halo Campaign Evolved has been the subject of some controversy. Allegations of heavy reliance on generative AI, poor management, nepotism, and a problematic work environment within the studio have been made. These claims have not yet been fully verified. The technical aspects and quality of the innovations will be more clearly seen once the early access period begins.
