Hazard Levels Early Access Release Date Announced
While Hazard Levels might seem like a classic co-op survival game at first glance, its concept takes things a step further. This time, players aren’t just trying to survive; they’re also involved in a secret beer brewing process using materials collected from bizarre dimensions. This shifts the game’s tone away from the usual “dark survival” mold, making it more original.
Hazard Levels Offers a Different Perspective on the Co-op Survival Genre
Hazard Levels, with its one- to four-player structure, offers a team-based experience. Players enter rifts leading to different dimensions, collecting resources and trying to survive in these areas. However, not every mission unfolds the same way; the maps and dangers in the game constantly change procedurally, making each playthrough unique.
One of the game’s most interesting mechanics is the “Gravity Gauntlet” system. This equipment allows players to carry and throw multiple objects simultaneously, actively utilizing the environment. This creates a system that requires more creative and quick decisions, unlike classic weapon-based gameplay. Indeed, one of the game’s most striking aspects is the absence of weapon use and the reliance on entirely different methods of survival.
The creatures encountered are also a key element in determining the game’s pace. Each creature has different behaviors and weaknesses, so players need to not only flee but also observe and act accordingly. Team communication becomes particularly critical here, and the proximity chat system further enhances this tension.
Between missions, players can return to their main base—a British-style pub—to reorganize their equipment, prepare new concoctions, and plan for the next mission. These concoctions can sometimes provide powerful advantages, while at other times they can completely mess things up. The game’s overall structure strikes an interesting balance between seriousness and absurdity.
