Metal Gear Solid 4 Remaster is Coming
Konami seems to have finally revealed a piece of news that fans have been waiting for a long time. A new version of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is on the way as Metal Gear Solid 4 Remaster. Released last year, Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 included the first three games in the series, and that title hinted that a “Volume 2” was on the way. Naturally, this new collection was expected to include Metal Gear Solid 4.
Metal Gear Solid 4 Reborn with Remaster
While Konami has yet to make a definitive confirmation, the publisher has been dropping hints about what might happen in the future. Speaking to IGN, Konami producer Noriaki Okamura responded to questions about Metal Gear Solid 4’s possible appearance on modern hardware. While Okamura said he can’t reveal anything definitively at this time, he hinted that fans can “connect the dots.” “Right now we’re secretly excited about what we should do for the future of the series. So I’m sorry, we can’t really announce anything right now. But stay tuned!”
The arrival of Metal Gear Solid 4 on modern platforms can be considered a major event in the series’ history. Compared to other games in the series, MGS4 has only ever been playable on PlayStation 3. Due to the unique architecture of the PS3, the game has not been backwards compatible with the PS4 or PS5 and has not been able to fulfill fans’ wishes for years. If Metal Gear Solid 4 is re-released as a remaster, all the games in the series will finally come together on modern platforms, ending a decade-long wait for fans.
