New Gameplay Footage has Emerged for The Sands Of Time Remake

The Sands of Time Remake seemed like a lost project for years. The excitement it generated when it was first announced gave way to questions due to delays and uncertainties. Just when everyone was saying “nothing will come of this project anymore,” new gameplay footage surfaced, giving a small glimpse into the game’s development process and naturally rekindling players’ interest.

The Sands of Time Remake Footage Back in the Spotlight

New footage for Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake was spotted through a short GIF shared in a developer’s portfolio. Although the quality is low and the fluidity isn’t great, the scenes it contains offer important details about the game’s gameplay.

The images particularly highlight the Prince’s parkour mechanics and combat scenes. These snippets, featuring core moves from the series like wall running and jumping, demonstrate the remake’s attempt to preserve its essence. A brief skirmish scene involving Farah is also visible, suggesting a fidelity to the story.

Of course, it’s important to remember that these images don’t represent the final product in technical terms. Low resolution and fluidity issues give the impression of a raw snippet from the development process. Nevertheless, even this detail, after so much time with virtually nothing else available, is quite valuable for players.

On the other hand, looking at the project’s history, it becomes clearer why this process took so long. Engine issues, changes in the development team, and factors like the pandemic triggered a process that led to the remake being reworked from scratch. Therefore, each new image makes not only the game but also that challenging development process a little more visible.
