NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 Release Date Announced

NVIDIA has been taking significant steps in recent years to significantly improve gaming performance with AI-powered image technologies. In particular, DLSS technology has garnered great interest among gamers by intelligently upscaling low-resolution images to deliver high performance. Announcements made at GDC 2026 revealed the official release date for DLSS 4.5, the next major update to DLSS technology.

DLSS 4.5 Brings Next-Generation Frame Generation Technology

According to the announcement by NVIDIA, DLSS 4.5 will be generally available on March 31, 2026. The most notable innovation of the new update will be a new technology called Dynamic Multi-Frame Generation. This system will be able to dynamically adjust the DLSS frame generation rate according to the screen’s target frame rate.

DLSS Multi Frame Generation technology relies on generating multiple frames after a traditionally generated frame, entirely using artificial intelligence. Initially, this system supported 4x frame generation on RTX 50 series graphics cards. With DLSS 4.5, this ratio is increased to 6x.

Thanks to this technology, the GPU can generate five additional frames after a single real frame, entirely using artificial intelligence. This makes it possible to significantly increase frame rates in games. This system can provide a major performance advantage, especially in AAA games played at high resolutions.

NVIDIA also states that DLSS 4.5 will not only be hardware-dependent but will also attempt to balance latency issues. The Dynamic Multi Frame Generation system aims to reduce input lag by lowering the frame generation rate when necessary. According to NVIDIA, DLSS 4.5 technology will be supported in at least 20 major AAA games coming out this year.
