PlayStation 6 can Run Most Games at 4K 120 FPS

The new generation of consoles has already begun to generate great anticipation even before their release. The latest rumors about the PlayStation 6 suggest the device will be quite impressive in terms of performance. According to these rumors, Sony’s new console will be powerful enough to comfortably run both high resolution and ray tracing technology simultaneously.

PlayStation 6 Could Make a Big Leap in Performance

According to information shared by Moore’s Law Is Dead, a technology content creator known for leaks, the PlayStation 6 is being developed with a target of 120 FPS performance at 4K resolution in most games. Furthermore, it’s said that this performance will be possible even with ray tracing enabled.

The console’s hardware is rumored to be quite powerful. The PlayStation 6 is expected to come with a 10-core Zen 6-based processor and a 54-unit GPU with RDNA 5 architecture. This structure is said to provide 3 to 6 times more ray tracing performance and approximately twice the raw graphics power compared to the PlayStation 5 Pro.

Sony is also reportedly improving its upscaling technology. A more advanced version of the PSSR technology used in the current generation may be included in the PlayStation 6. Such technologies can significantly improve performance by displaying images rendered at lower resolutions at higher resolutions.

The release date of the PlayStation 6 is still unclear. Previously, it was rumored that the console could be released in late 2027 or early 2028. However, some new rumors suggest that due to rising global memory costs, the release could be delayed until 2029. Sony has yet to make an official statement.
