Secrets of the Restricted Section quest and its solution is the eighth main quest in the game. It unlocks after completing Professor Heckert’s quest. Hogwarts Legacy: Secrets of the Restricted Section quest and solution
After completing Professor Hecat’s Assignment 1, you return to Professor Fig. While you are chatting with him about our previous mission, Professor Black, the school principal, enters with his rude behaviour and takes him away from you. We have to use our own wits to get into the restricted section in the library.
Go and talk to Sebastian Sallow as described in the next mission. He agrees to help you enter the Restricted Section and wants to meet you in the evening. You don’t have to spend much time. The game returns immediately in the evening. Talk to Sebastian again. He will teach you the Disillusionment spell to make yourself temporarily invisible.
Use your newly learnt Disillusionment spell to avoid the patrolling students. Sneak past them all through the door to the library and meet Sebastian downstairs.

When you enter the library, the librarian is inside. You need to get the key from his desk. Use the Disillusionment spell to turn invisible and quietly approach the desk to get the key.
When Sebastian drops the books on the floor to distract the other librarian inside, make your way to the right of the hall. Open the locked door and go down the stairs to the lower level. The book you’re looking for is on the floor below, but first you’ll have to sneak past two ghosts. Use the armour as a distraction and then keep moving forward.
You will see stairs leading down to a lower floor. Follow the path. At the end you will see a door. Open it and go down the stairs.
Peeves is waiting for you at the end of the corridor here. Sebastian will go after him to stop him from complaining. You are now alone.
On your way there is a suit of armour scattered on the ground. Use the Reparo spell to move it out of the way.
When you continue, you will find the Restricted Section. When you get to the door, you can’t see it, but there is a magical area on the ground right in front of it that will show you the door. Examine it. You can now pass through the enchanted door.
You go down the stairs again. When you come to the door of The Athenaeum, examine it and go inside. A little further and you come to a cliff. Reparo will not work here. You need to hit the round rune standing on the door directly opposite you. This will open the bridge. You can cross safely.
In the next room you will encounter some enemies. Use the Disillusionment spell to turn invisible, sneak up on them and kill them.
You come to a bridge again. Open it in the same way by hitting the rune on it. But be careful, there are people on both sides of the bridge waiting to block you. As soon as the bridge opens, run forward without waiting. The bridge will be closed near your arrival. Jump without waiting and grab the edge of the entrance.

We are now in the last room. Shoot the rune at the top again. Half of the bridge will open. When you reach the end, shoot the rune again. The rest of the bridge will also open.
Just before entering the room, there are two chests to the right and left of the corridor. Open them and take the contents. You will get Pinstriped Scarf from one and Wiggenweld Potion from the other.
There are a lot of enemies waiting for you inside and their only goal is to throw you down. It will be a bit challenging, but you have to destroy every one of them. So don’t forget to use protection as well.
After killing them all, go through the door and watch the cinematics with the pleasure of finding the book you are looking for.
