Terminator: Survivors has been postponed

Terminator: Survivors, which has been silent for a long time, has made headlines with a disappointing development for waiting players. Nacon officially confirmed that the open-world survival game will not be released in 2025, and did not share a new release date. Thus, the wait for the new game set in the Terminator universe has been further extended.

Plans for Terminator: Survivors Rewritten

The development team states that the decision to postpone Terminator: Survivors is due to the desire to offer a more complete experience instead of releasing the game in early access. The producers emphasize that significant progress has been made on world design, combat system, narrative structure, and atmosphere, and that a flawless first encounter has become a priority.

Another consequence of this decision is the complete abandonment of the game’s early access plans. Originally planned for early access, Terminator: Survivors will now be released directly as a full version. However, this approach means a longer development time and an uncertain wait.

Another significant change announced with the delay is the cancellation of the cooperative multiplayer mode. Initially presented as one of Terminator: Survivors’ standout features, this mode was removed after testing and evaluation. The development team argues that this decision was made to create a more intense and cinematic Terminator atmosphere.

Currently, Terminator: Survivors is only being developed for PC, with PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S versions planned for a later date. While no definitive release date has been announced, more concrete information about the game is expected to be shared as we approach 2026.
