The First 5 Minutes of Stranger Things Season 5 Have Been Released
The wait is nearing its end for Stranger Things fans. Netflix has released the first five minutes of the show’s highly anticipated final season, welcoming viewers back to the dark atmosphere of Hawkins and the Upside Down. The opening scene, with a tone both nostalgic and terrifying, ushers in the series’ final act.
What Happens in the First 5 Minutes of Stranger Things Season 5?
The first scene Netflix has released flashes back to 1983, the moment Will Byers disappeared. Set in the ominous forest of the Upside Down, the young Will reappears. A terrifying moment unfolds as he hums The Clash’s “Should I Stay or Should I Go.” A Demogorgon soon appears and destroys Will’s cabin.
Will briefly escapes as he attempts to escape, but the creature drags him into the darkness. Then, as the screen fades to black, the scene cuts to Hawkins Library. Here, Vecna emerges from the shadows and confronts Will. Vecna’s words, “Now we can begin,” are the first powerful dialogue that sets the tone for the season.
The visual effects and dark atmosphere used throughout the scene suggest that the series’ final season will be grimmer and darker. Vecna’s words to Will, “We will do great things together,” suggest that the connections between the characters will deepen. This opening both references the past and hints at the coming great battle.
According to the Duffer brothers, season 5 will be “faster-paced than previous seasons,” with the story beginning directly in the quarantined Hawkins environment. The first four episodes will be released on November 26th, with the remaining episodes releasing between December and the New Year’s Eve. With this release schedule, Netflix is turning the Stranger Things finale into a three-part event.
