The New John Wick Game Will Go Back to the Beginning of the Story
One of the most beloved characters in the action movie world is preparing to return to the gaming world. It was officially confirmed last month that a new AAA game set in the John Wick universe is in development. Now, the first significant information about when the game’s story will take place has emerged.
John Wick Game Set Before the Movies
New information shared by the game’s developer, Saber Interactive, confirms that the story will take place before the first film. In an interview, the studio’s creative director, Tim Willits, stated that the game will depict a period when John Wick has not yet fully achieved his legendary assassin persona.
The teaser trailer also hinted at this detail. The scene where Wick gets his measurements for his new suit showed him looking younger, which drew attention. The development team confirmed that this scene actually provided an important clue about the game’s timeline.
Not only will the character’s appearance be different, but his fighting style will also change. According to the developers, a younger John Wick will have a slightly different fighting style than the flawless and cold-blooded assassin we’ve seen in the films. The fights are planned to be more instinctive and at times feel more raw.
There is no official release date yet for the new John Wick game. However, it is known that the project is quite large-scale and that names like series director Chad Stahelski and actor Keanu Reeves are involved. This suggests that the game could offer both a faithful and highly ambitious action experience.
