The Saros Gameplay Trailer Left Audiences Breathless at State Of Play

Saros stole the show at the February 2026 State of Play event with new footage. Housemarque’s game, which they’ve been working on for some time, has generated considerable anticipation since its initial announcement; however, the gameplay footage shared this time has significantly raised expectations. While discussions continue about whether the studio can raise the bar even higher after Returnal, Saros already looks like one of the most ambitious action games of 2026.

What Did Saros Show with Its New Gameplay?

The new trailer revealed that Saros will have a more interconnected and integrated world. Unlike the more isolated areas in Returnal, transitions between areas feel more organic and fluid. This points to a broader design approach in terms of exploration.

In terms of gameplay, Housemarque’s signature is clearly felt. Intense gunfire, quick reflexes, and screen-filling effects suggest Saros’s pace will never slow down. While the bullet-hell structure is preserved, the third-person shooter dynamics appear to have been further refined.

It’s stated that a deeper progression system will be offered throughout our character Arjun Devraj’s journey. Permanent upgrades and diversified skill trees are noteworthy, ensuring each run feels different from the last. This also means a strong structure in terms of replayability.

While comparisons with Returnal are inevitable, judging by the initial impressions, Saros aims to go a step further. With its atmosphere, fast-paced structure, and larger world design, it seems like a project that proves Housemarque’s hand is still strong. As release approaches, all eyes will remain on Saros.
