Valorborn Early Access Release Date Announced
Valorborn, developed by independent studio Laps Games, aims to combine the classic role-playing formula with survival and free role-choice. Set in a dark world shaped by the fall of a magic-powered empire, the game doesn’t impose a specific hero identity on the player. Becoming a thief, mercenary, or hunter is entirely up to the player. However, this freedom comes at a price: a permanent death system is central to the game.
Valorborn Enters Early Access on April 15, 2026
Valorborn will be released on Steam in Early Access on April 15, 2026. The initial release will include most of the survival mechanics, camping, crafting, stealth, melee combat, and trading systems. The development team plans for the game to remain in Early Access for at least a year.
On the story side, players embark on an adventure in the Kingdom of Thareon, which emerged after the fall of the Allarion Empire. In this world where magic is forbidden and its users are hunted, the social order exists on a fragile balance. The goal is to add new regions and different starting points throughout the development process.
The world design is dynamic. Villagers follow their daily routines, factions struggle for power, and threats move independently across the map. The world continues to flow whether the player intervenes or not, a choice that reinforces the sandbox feel.
