Yakuza Kiwami 3 Contains Major Clues
With the rapid growth of the Yakuza / Like A Dragon series during the Switch 2 era, all eyes are now on Kiwami 3. RGG Studio’s statements indicate that the game isn’t just a remake; it even carries some surprising clues about the series’ future. This has significantly increased both curiosity and anticipation among fans.
Yakuza Kiwami 3 Opens the Door to the Series’ Future
RGG Studio director Masayoshi Yokoyama stated that Kiwami 3 contains “big clues” about the series’ future, emphasizing that the game isn’t just another remake. While no official announcements have been made, Masayoshi says players will get a “clear idea” of where the series is headed when they experience it. This has raised numerous possibilities within the community, including a new main character, a new tone, or a new story structure.
The biggest new feature in the Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties package is the Dark Ties chapter, an entirely new story. Masayoshi describes this story as one of the series’ darkest scenarios to date. It’s rumored that this new adventure, centered around Yoshitaka Mine, could be so striking that it shifts the series’ tone. Players are preparing to encounter a much harsher dramatic edge alongside the classic Kiryu energy.
These hints pointing to the series’ future are particularly intriguing because there have been five mainline games since Yakuza 3, none of which are currently available on Switch platforms. Furthermore, new era stars like Like A Dragon and Infinite Wealth have embarked on a new narrative path with a different protagonist. Therefore, the direction Kiwami 3 offers is considered crucial for understanding the series’ future trajectory.
All these revelations reveal that Kiwami 3 is much more than just a remake of a PS3 classic. RGG Studio’s new approach could usher in an exciting era for both longtime fans and newcomers to the series. It looks like a new chapter will be opened in the Yakuza world.
