Yoshi and Bowser Jr. from Super Mario Galaxy Movie Leaked

Nintendo’s legendary Super Mario series is preparing to return to the big screen once again with a new film. The Super Mario Galaxy film, set to be released in April 2026, has already attracted fan interest before even a trailer has been released. However, this time, the leak came from a rather unusual source, not a film set.

Yoshik and Bowser Jr. Appear in the Super Mario Galaxy Movie

The character designs for the Super Mario Galaxy movie have surfaced through product photos shared by a grocery store chain. Tops Markets in the US clearly features Yoshi and Bowser Jr. on their “Pillsbury Super Mario Galaxy”-themed cookie dough packaging, indirectly confirming the two characters’ appearance in the film.

The front of the box features a new design of Yoshi, the character that emerged from the cracked egg at the end of The Super Mario Bros. Movie. This version, slightly different from the video game version, features softer textures and simpler facial features. This design appears to have been remodeled to better suit Illumination’s film aesthetic.

A fun puzzle on the back of the packaging offers clues to the galaxies where the film takes place. Symbols representing Mario and Yoshi’s adventures on various planets are visible, while the most striking detail is Bowser Jr.’s graffiti sign. This detail almost guarantees that Bowser Jr., Bowser’s son, will officially appear in the film for the first time.

The trailer for the film is expected to be released alongside the release of Wicked: For Good, which will be released towards the end of the year. While Nintendo remains silent, marketing appears to have begun earlier than planned. While we haven’t seen Yoshi and Bowser Jr. in action yet, this leak suggests the film will inject new energy into its stellar cast.
