You Will be Able to Purchase a Figure of Your Final Fantasy 14 Character
Final Fantasy 14, one of the most popular MMORPGs, has had a wide range of merchandise for years. From Nendoroid figures to camping equipment, many different items are offered to players. However, Square Enix has now announced that they are working on a new system that will allow players to purchase figures of their own Final Fantasy 14 characters.
Final Fantasy 14 Character Figure Service Under Testing
The new idea was shared in a recent Live Letter broadcast hosted by Final Fantasy 14 producer Naoki Yoshida (Yoshi-P). According to Yoshida, the team has been experimenting for some time with a service that would allow players to transform their Warrior of Light characters into real-life figures.
In the planned system, players send screenshots of their characters. These images can include the character’s normal pose or a special pose. The team then creates a figure that closely resembles the player’s character based on the submitted images. This allows players to own a physical model of their in-game character.
However, the system isn’t fully ready yet. According to Yoshida, one of the biggest problems is pricing. The different races and character sizes in Final Fantasy 14 directly affect production costs. For example, producing a small Lalafell figure might not cost the same as producing a large Hrothgar character.
Square Enix is also considering different uses for this service. Ideas such as players being able to order figures of their friends’ characters as well as their own are being considered. More details about the system are expected to be shared at the Final Fantasy 14 Fan Fest event in California on April 24th.
