Blade has remained silent for a long time since its announcement at The Game Awards 2023. This situation, especially with the lack of new information about the game at recent major events, has raised questions among players. Following the increasing curiosity and concerns, a statement from Arkane gave an important message about the fate of the project.

Arkane Provides Reassurance for Blade

Dinga Bakaba, one of the creative directors of Arkane Studios, stated in a social media post that the development process of Blade is progressing smoothly. Bakaba stated that the team is working intensively and is extremely proud of the game that will emerge, asking players to be patient.

Bakaba’s statements imply that Blade’s silence is not a pause, but the result of a conscious development process. The director emphasized that their goal was not simply to create a licensed game, but to deliver a “special” experience that meets the high standards Arkane has set for itself and its players. This approach aligns with the quality-focused philosophy the studio has adopted in its previous projects.

Blade’s absence attracted more attention, particularly due to its omission from the Xbox Games Showcase and The Game Awards 2025. This was met with concern by some players, given the difficult times Arkane has faced in recent years. The closure of a portion of the studio and the general uncertainty in the industry make Blade’s success critical for Arkane.

Despite this, Bakaba’s statements indicate that there were no serious problems in Blade’s development process. Arkane’s reputation for deep gameplay titles like Dishonored and Prey strengthens the expectation that Blade can also transcend the usual superhero tropes. The character’s dark tone and vampire theme provide a suitable backdrop for the studio’s storytelling style.

Arkane doesn’t want to rush things with Blade. The director’s message is clear: the project is progressing, the team is focused on its work, and the resulting game aims to be worth the long wait. For now, the only thing players can do is wait for Arkane to deliver on this promise.
