The Alighieri Circle: Dante’s Bloodline Release Date Announced
The idea of a horror game based on Dante Alighieri’s Divine Comedy is already interesting in itself, but The Alighieri Circle: Dante’s Bloodline doesn’t want to stick to classic hellish creatures and action. ONE-O-ONE Games’ approach is more personal; the real fear here isn’t dying, but being seen and understood. The story, in which Gabriele Alighieri confronts his family, his past, and his own mind, is built precisely on this idea.
The Alighieri Circle: Dante’s Bloodline Releases September 10th
The Alighieri Circle: Dante’s Bloodline will be released on September 10th for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC. The PC version will be available on Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG. The price has been announced as $19.99 / £19.50. A 10% discount will be applied for the first two weeks. A Switch 2 version will also be released sometime in 2026, but a definite date has not yet been given.
In the story, the barrier between the real world and Hell weakens every 33 years. Gabriele Alighieri is forced to return to the fate he has been fleeing for years to protect his family and the world. This requires returning to his ancestral home and completing a ritual called The Ritual.
Players will collect lost magical pages from the Divine Comedy, solve esoteric puzzles, and confront Gabriele’s past traumas. Diary pages and collectibles found in the environment will gradually reveal the tragic past of the Alighieri lineage and the true cost of the ritual.
Gameplay will unfold between two different realities. In The Villa, you’ll explore a quiet and melancholic Italian mansion, while in The Dive, you’ll encounter a corrupted reflection of it, seemingly straight out of Hell. The development team specifically emphasizes the idea of ”Hell within.” In short, The Alighieri Circle: Dante’s Bloodline is less of a Dante-inspired action game and more of a dark psychological thriller grappling with one’s own inner fears.
