ConcernedApe Reveals Stardew Valley 2 Plans
Stardew Valley, one of the most beloved titles in the independent gaming world, is back in the spotlight with a surprising announcement as it approaches its 10th anniversary. The game’s creator, Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone, has spoken openly for the first time about a long-awaited Stardew Valley 2. While there’s no concrete announcement yet, the statements have significantly increased excitement about the future of the series. The possibility of a Stardew Valley 2 could open a new era for players.
Roadmap for Stardew Valley 2
In an interview, Eric Barone openly stated that he genuinely wants to work on Stardew Valley 2. Barone said that at one point in the past he even started the development process for this sequel, but later shifted his focus to another project. This statement shows that Stardew Valley 2 wasn’t just a theoretical idea, but was seriously considered at one point.
ConcernedApe’s current priorities include both planned updates for Stardew Valley and the long-awaited Haunted Chocolatier project. The developer specifically emphasizes his desire to continue supporting the current game and not abandon players. Therefore, a Stardew Valley 2 is not expected in the short term.
Barone also shared two different approaches for a potential Stardew Valley 2. The first idea is to offer a completely new experience with a brand new world and new characters. However, the strong connection to Pelican Town and the existing characters makes this option risky. The second option is to preserve the existing universe and characters, telling a new adventure within the same world.
For now, Stardew Valley 2 remains only a future plan. ConcernedApe says he’s keeping this project in mind and will reconsider it when the time is right. The fact that Stardew Valley still has such a vibrant community after all these years clearly shows why the idea of a Stardew Valley 2 has generated such strong anticipation.
