Dead by Daylight Enters its 10th Anniversary with a Remastered Version

Dead by Daylight has become one of the strongest examples of a long-lasting live-service game. Behaviour Interactive seems determined to celebrate the game’s 10th anniversary with more than just a few events or cosmetic content. During the anniversary broadcast, the studio shared both new collaborations and major technical innovations that will impact the game’s future.

Dead by Daylight to Undergo a Complete Visual Overhaul

The most notable announcement during the broadcast was the comprehensive visual overhaul coming in 2027. This update isn’t just a simple graphic polish. Existing character models will be reworked, animations will be improved, hair details will be updated, and new voice lines will be added to some characters. With this change, Behaviour aims to achieve a modern visual aesthetic that makes the game less age-appropriate.

There are also significant innovations on the map side. The studio will revamp some existing maps and add a dynamic weather system to matches. This means that one match might be under light rain, while in another, players might find themselves in the middle of an intense storm. The aim of this system is to make each session feel slightly different and more atmospheric.

The content plan also looks quite extensive. The previously announced Jason Voorhees will join the game, followed by a new survivor character, Shane Wiigwaas. Additionally, content related to Scooby-Doo, Terrifier, Iron Maiden, Silent Hill f, and The Casting of Frank Stone will also be included in the Dead by Daylight universe. The Terrifier collaboration, in particular, could be a noteworthy move for horror fans.

A special in-game event called The Black Banquet will also be held as part of the anniversary. Furthermore, Thordur Palsson, known for The Valhalla Murders, will direct a Dead by Daylight film. With its 10th-anniversary plans, Behaviour Interactive aims not only to keep the game alive but also to carry it into the new decade with a stronger and renewed identity.
