DOOM: The Dark Ages File Size and Upload Schedule

The file size announced for the PlayStation 5 version of DOOM: The Dark Ages was announced as approximately 84 GB. A similar space requirement is expected on Xbox Series X|S and PC platforms. The digital art book offered to players who purchase the Premium version of the game takes up 17.5 GB of space alone. For this reason, it is recommended that those who want to access the full content plan a total storage space of close to 100 GB.

The dates when the game files will be downloaded have also been announced. Standard version users will be able to start pre-loading the game as of May 13. In this way, the download process will be completed before the official release on May 15. Premium version owners will be able to gain two days early access and start downloading on May 11 and access the game on May 13.

The most striking difference of the new DOOM game is that it does not include a multiplayer mode. Instead, the focus is entirely on the single-player story, new weapons, and a dark atmosphere in unknown lands. The fight against evil forces with the DOOM Slayer character will be presented in a more epic and slow-paced structure this time.

The date has also been clarified for those waiting for the review scores. The first evaluations about the game will start to be shared as of 17:00 on Friday, May 9. The fact that the review embargo was lifted a week before the game’s release shows the confidence of the producer id Software in the game. DOOM: The Dark Ages will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on May 15.
