The first full trailer released for Dune 3 shows Denis Villeneuve preparing to conclude his trilogy with a magnificent and darker finale. The film takes place approximately twenty years after Paul Atreides seized control of the Empire. Paul grapples with the consequences of his rule while simultaneously battling nightmarish visions of the Empire’s downfall. Chani’s return to the center of the story, and the political connection established with Princess Irulan, suggest the film will create significant ruptures not only on the battlefield but also in personal relationships.
The large-scale conflicts highlighted in the trailer also demonstrate the importance of the IMAX format for this film.
