EA FC 27 is Preparing an Open-World Mode

Rumors have been circulating for some time that EA Sports is preparing a radical change in its soccer series, and the new step taken for EA FC 27 has further strengthened these claims. Leaks and insider information over the past few months suggested that a completely different open-world mode would be added to the game, and now a concrete development regarding the name of this mode has emerged, significantly raising expectations.

EA FC 27 Open World Experience Becomes Clearer

According to the information that has emerged, EA Sports has officially registered the name “FC The Grounds” for the open-world mode that will be included in EA FC 27. This name, included in the trademark registrations, clearly shows that a new experience based on free roaming, outside of the game’s classic menu and match structure, is being planned. This move also proves that the long-discussed open-world rumors were not just an idea.

Previously leaked gameplay footage suggested that the structure of this mode would be similar to the open-world mechanics in the NBA 2K series. It’s described as a system where players can freely roam within designated areas, participating in various events and mini-games. In EA FC 27, these areas are said to be comprised of regions called “Districts,” each inspired by different football cultures.

This open-world approach could transform the EA FC series from a purely match-focused football game into a broader experience that highlights the social and competitive aspects of players. Players developing avatars and competing in different regions could offer a more engaging and vibrant online experience.

Given that EA FC games are typically released in September, an official announcement regarding the open-world mode is expected before launch. While all the details aren’t yet clear, this move, dubbed “FC The Grounds,” clearly indicates that EA FC 27 is preparing for a change on a scale unprecedented in the series.
