Final Fantasy 7 Revelation is Abandoning Multiple Endings
Final Fantasy 7 Revelation, the final installment in the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy, has become one of the most anticipated titles among players. While Square Enix shared the release window and initial gameplay footage for the new game, director Naoki Hamaguchi revealed a significant detail about the story structure. According to him, the game will offer players certain choices, but these choices won’t lead to different endings; instead, they will affect the characters’ journey to the finale.
Final Fantasy 7 Revelation Will Follow a Single Ending
In an interview with GamesRadar+, Naoki Hamaguchi stated that they didn’t want to offer a uniform narrative experience for everyone in Final Fantasy 7 Revelation. According to the director, the goal is for each player to experience certain moments with varying intensity based on their own choices as they reach the final chapter. Therefore, there will be specific decisions in the game, and these decisions will particularly affect how characters prepare for the final battle.
According to Hamaguchi, players’ choices will become more prominent as characters face their final battles. The story will reflect the determination and state of mind characters carry as they head towards the great battle that will determine the fate of the planet, through these choices. In other words, rather than completely diverting the overall plot, choices will contribute to the characters’ final stance and the emotional depth of the scenes.
However, there will be no multiple endings in the game. Hamaguchi acknowledged the great curiosity surrounding how the third part will end, but did not share details of the finale. Nevertheless, it has been confirmed that there is a single, definitive ending planned for Final Fantasy 7 Revelation. This means that players may have different experiences leading up to the finale, but the ultimate conclusion will be the same for everyone.
This choice is quite remarkable for the final installment of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy, as the extent to which the series would alter the classic story after Remake and Rebirth has been a subject of much debate.
