Fernando Rizo from Caboodle Games suggested that many developers recently discussed similar issues regarding Game Pass deals at an industry event. According to Rizo, some studios whose negotiations were in the advanced stages unexpectedly learned that the process had been halted.
Rizo also emphasized that he wasn’t providing definitive information. Instead of saying that the new agreements have been completely canceled, he stated that, in his opinion, the process “appears to be suspended.” Therefore, there is no confirmed decision, only claims and observations circulating within the industry. It’s important to note that the news hasn’t been officially confirmed.
The claims are also linked to changes Xbox has made to Game Pass in recent months. It’s known that the company’s new management has been reviewing the costs of the subscription service and aiming to create a more sustainable structure.
