Palworld 1.0 Reaches the Top of Steam with Record Player Count
Palworld 1.0 has finally launched after a long early access period, making a strong comeback on Steam. Initially a global phenomenon with its “armed Pokémon” analogy, the full release has managed to both reunite old players and attract a new audience. The reported concurrent player numbers once again demonstrate that Palworld is not just a passing internet trend.
Palworld 1.0 Reaches Hundreds of Thousands of Players on Steam
On the day of its full release, Palworld 1.0 nearly reached 500,000 concurrent players on Steam. This figure is noteworthy because the game has garnered such significant interest again approximately two and a half years after its early access release. While the initial viral effect may not be as strong, the return of hundreds of thousands of players reveals that the game has built a lasting community.
Palworld reached 2.1 million concurrent players on Steam when it launched in early access in January 2024. This made it the third-highest concurrent player count in the platform’s history. Palworld surpassed major titles like Counter-Strike 2, Cyberpunk 2077, Elden Ring, and Dota 2, trailing only PUBG and Black Myth: Wukong.
The full release adds dozens of new Pals, expanded content, and numerous gameplay tweaks. The patch notes describe the update as quite comprehensive, stating that Palworld 1.0 offers a much larger experience compared to the early access build. Pocketpair also decided not to raise the standard price of the game despite the increased content.
Even without major updates, Palworld managed to maintain between 30,000 and 70,000 daily players. Significant content updates would see this number rise again to around 200,000. Palworld 1.0 reaching nearly half a million players demonstrates its potential for long-term success. The level at which the player count will be balanced after the full release will become clear in the coming weeks.
