Resident Evil Trilogy is Released at GOG
The original Resident Evil Trilogy is released on GOG for PC, which features Resident Evil 1-2-3.
The Comeback for Resident Evil Trilogy
The Director’s Cut version of the original Resident Evil game has made its way to PS4 and PS5 through PS Plus Premium, but otherwise the game has been unavailable on most modern gaming platforms. That changes now with Resident Evil Trilogy’s debut on GOG, giving survival horror fans the chance to relive the classic, DRM free with some “quality of life improvements.”
PC gamers can buy the original 1996 Resident Evil through GOG right now for just $9.99. It includes four localizations, new rendering options, full support for modern controllers, and more. This rereleased version of Resident Evil is otherwise a replica of what the game was like when it released in 1996, meaning it doesn’t include the extra content that was included in the Director’s Cut version. Still, it’s great to see the original Resident Evil game make a comeback, and hopefully, Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis aren’t too far behind. There’s also the option to buy all three games in a bundle for $24.99, so anyone that chooses to go that route can enjoy a slight discount.
Bringing Resident Evil Trilogy to GOG is a great step to make horror fans happy. No confirmed information yet but Capcom might bring other classic Resident Evil games to GOG as well.
