[Rumor] One of the Ending Scenes of Fable Reboot has been Leaked
The upcoming Fable Reboot is preparing to stay true to the series’ roots with a structure where player choices directly affect the world, but a small detail noticed during a developer presentation has sparked a major debate. File names open on a developer’s screen during Developer Direct suggest an early clue to one of the game’s possible endings.
Possible Dark Ending Scenario in Fable Reboot
In an image noticed by an observant user on Reddit, the phrase “BOOK_ILLUSTRATION_EPILOGUE_BOWERSTONE AFTERMATH_DESTROYED.psd” can be read in a tab open on the developer’s screen. The words “epilogue” and “destroyed” in the file name strengthen the possibility that this could be a conclusion screen shown at the end of the game. Considering the history of the series, such epilogue slides have frequently been used to summarize the effects of player decisions on Albion.
Allegedly, this ending may involve the destruction of Bowerstone as a result of some critical decisions the player makes throughout the story. The phrase “national monuments” in the file name suggests that the city’s loss of importance could be linked to the destruction of the monuments. This indicates that Fable Reboot could present quite harsh consequences regarding moral choices.
Another tab seen in the same images shows the phrase “BOOK_ILLUSTRATION_KILL_BALVERINE.” This detail raises the possibility of a “book” interface representing different story branches or quest outcomes outside of the epilogue. Ignoring or handling the Balverine threat differently could have direct consequences for the future of Albion.
Of course, all of this is just speculation at this stage. It seems unlikely that the developers would knowingly leave such a critical detail about the game’s ending open in a public presentation. However, the idea that Fable Reboot, developed by Playground Games, will have a structure where player choices come with truly heavy consequences is further strengthened by this leaked claim. The only way to find out the truth is to wait for the game’s release.
