Stellar Blade Team Won a Lot of Awards

Released exclusively for PlayStation 5 in 2024 and quickly becoming one of the most talked-about titles of the year, Stellar Blade was not only a commercial success for Shift Up but also a showcase reflecting the studio’s work culture. The studio, which gained momentum with the game’s PC release, chose to share this success directly with its employees.

Stellar Blade Success Turns into a Celebration at Shift Up

According to shared information, Shift Up celebrated 2025 as one of the most successful years in the studio’s history with a special ceremony. As part of this, over 300 employees received Apple products such as Apple Watch and AirPods, as well as a cash payment of 5 million Won per person. At current exchange rates, this figure is approximately $3,400 USD per employee.

Stellar Blade Team Won a Lot of Awards

This approach is quite remarkable, considering the frequent discussions about intense workloads and “crunch” in the gaming industry. Shift Up previously gifted the entire team a PS5 Pro after Stellar Blade’s initial major success, demonstrating the studio’s consistency in rewarding employees.

The main reason for 2025 being such a strong year was Stellar Blade’s PC release. The game surpassed the one million sales mark on PC much faster than on PS5, enabling the studio to achieve record revenue in the second quarter. This success clearly shows that the game is no longer limited to a single platform.

Following all these developments, Shift Up has begun working on a sequel to Stellar Blade. While the studio is actively hiring for the new project, it has also been confirmed that this sequel will not be a timed PlayStation exclusive. Shift Up seems determined to pursue both global growth and employee satisfaction simultaneously.
