Strange Things Happened When Every NPC Became a Mount in RDR2

Red Dead Redemption 2 normally offers players a fairly classic transportation system with horses, cars, trains, and boats. However, things never stay that normal in the world of mods. The game, which players have been pushing the boundaries of with various experiments for years, is back in the spotlight this time with every NPC, and even many creatures, becoming mounts. The result is truly bizarre, funny, and subtly disrupts the seriousness of RDR2.

Red Dead Redemption 2 Mod Pushes Boundaries

With this mod, Arthur isn’t limited to riding horses. Different creatures like crocodiles, bears, deer, and birds also become usable mounts. It’s even stated that the size of eagles can be changed, placing Arthur in the middle of a fantastical scene. Considering the somber atmosphere of Red Dead Redemption 2, it’s not hard to guess why these kinds of images look so entertaining.

The truly hilarious part is that people can also be used as mounts. Here, Arthur is seen sitting on the shoulders of a character, taking a position similar to the car-driving animation in the game. The resulting scene resembles a cartoonish team effort rather than the seriousness of the Wild West. Controlling particularly unlikable characters in this way could create a separate area of entertainment for players.

The mod’s oddities don’t end there. It’s also reported that Arthur can climb onto the shoulders of a person riding a horse. Whether it’s possible to directly control the horse in this case is unclear for now. However, the very idea that the horse could be indirectly guided by controlling the character is enough to show how absurd the mod has become.

For now, the full scope of the mod hasn’t been revealed, as only a short clip has been shared. Therefore, what can be done when players get their hands on it is still a matter of curiosity. Nevertheless, it seems that Red Dead Redemption 2 has once again become unexpectedly and incredibly fun thanks to the modding community.
