The new game by the former TLOU director will be screened at TGA
The Game Awards, as always, is preparing to host surprise announcements, and a familiar name from the gaming world has resurfaced. Bruce Straley, who played a significant role in The Last of Us and Uncharted series, is set to be one of the most anticipated moments of the event with his new project.
Former TLOU Director Returns to the Stage
Wildflower Interactive, founded by Bruce Straley, will introduce its first game at The Game Awards. According to a statement by Geoff Keighley, the studio’s debut title will be shown for the first time during the event on December 11th. The short teaser video already reveals the game’s flood-shaded visual style and its immersive nature-filled atmosphere.
Straley was part of the creative team behind The Last of Us at Naughty Dog, and also directed Uncharted 2: Among Thieves and A Thief’s End. After leaving the studio in 2017, the experienced director founded Wildflower Interactive in 2021, but no concrete details about the project have been shared until now.
The teaser video doesn’t provide clear information about the game’s story or release date. The dialogue and nature sounds in the background suggest a narrative-driven approach, suggesting the studio aims for a calmer yet more profound experience. The game’s title and genre are also expected to be announced during the event.
Meanwhile, Bruce Straley’s former colleague Neil Druckmann is also expected to attend the ceremony. The nomination of the second season of The Last of Us series in the “Best Adapted Screenplay” category makes this meeting even more significant. This new project, led by an experienced director, is already expected to be one of the most talked-about moments of the TGA.
