007 First Light Release Trailer Has Been Released

007 First Light, with its new trailer released just days before its launch, once again showcases the reimagined origin story of James Bond. IO Interactive, known for the HITMAN series, will this time portray Bond not as a ready-made legend, but as a young and dangerous agent candidate striving to earn his place in the 00 program. The trailer highlights both the cinematic aspects of the game and the tactical freedom given to the player.

007 First Light Will Tell Bond’s First Big Mission

007 First Light will be released on May 27, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. The Nintendo Switch 2 version will be released in the summer of 2026. Patrick Gibson reprises his role as James Bond. The story begins with Bond attracting the attention of MI6 after a risky incident in Iceland. His ability to remain calm under pressure will be the first major step that brings him closer to the 00 program.

In Bond’s journey, the character M stands out as a crucial supporter who trusts his intuition and decisions in the field. However, former 00 agent and tough training supervisor John Greenway will clash with Bond’s improvisational and instinctive style. This tension could show how the character approaches the classic Bond identity. The story also features 009’s uncontrolled return, which will launch the first major test for the 00 program.

On the gameplay side, IO Interactive’s Creative Approach system is noteworthy. Players can complete missions stealthily, with direct action, or by combining both. The Spycraft system allows for eavesdropping, stealing important items, and environmental clues opening new avenues. Bond’s Instinct offers the ability to deceive enemies, evade suspicion, and make sharper moves in combat.

Q Branch devices will also play a significant role in missions. Hacking, lock-cutting, distraction, and silent incapacitation options will provide players with more tactical maneuvering space. Following the main story, the TacSim mode will kick in, allowing players to re-try missions with different rules, score targets, and unlockable content. Pre-ordering players will also receive a free upgrade to the Deluxe Edition and 24-hour early access, among other notable pre-release bonuses.
