A Petition has been Started for Destiny 3
Destiny 3 has once again become a hot topic among players following Bungie’s plans to end major content support for Destiny 2. Fans who have been loyal to the series for years don’t want the Destiny universe to be completely silenced. Therefore, a campaign launched on Change.org quickly garnered significant support. The desire for Destiny 3 seems to have found strong resonance, especially among the community, which has been dissatisfied with the content flow in recent years.
Fan Pressure for Destiny 3 Grows
The petition, titled “Call to Sony to Make Destiny 3,” reached over 90,000 signatures on its first day and continues to spread rapidly. As of the time of writing, the campaign has reached 114,361 verified signatures. This figure clearly shows how strongly the Destiny community supports the idea of a new main game.
The backlash from fans stems from Bungie’s decision to end major content support for Destiny 2 on June 9, 2026. Following the last major update, Monument of Triumph, there will be no new seasons, episodes, or large-scale content updates. While the servers will remain open, the significant end to active development has fueled player uncertainty about the future.
The campaign is urging Sony to continue the Destiny universe with a new main game. The recent layoffs at Bungie, the lack of content in recent years, and the studio’s focus on other projects like Marathon have left Destiny players disappointed. The community doesn’t want the series’ rich story and long-established universe to go to waste.
However, signature campaigns aren’t easily able to directly change major company decisions. For now, there’s no official statement from Sony or Bungie regarding Destiny 3. Nevertheless, the rapid growth of the campaign demonstrates the passionate fanbase the series still has. The glimmer of hope for Destiny fans may be small, but clearly no one is ready to completely extinguish Ghost’s light.
