According to The Age of Bhaarat Team, India is the New Center of the Game
The Age of Bhaarat aims to bring the cultural success achieved by China and South Korea in the gaming industry to India. Developed by Tara Gaming, the game is preparing to offer a high-budget experience drawing from the country’s history and culture. Studio management believes that India, with its large player base, skilled developers, and lower production costs, could become the next major hub of the global gaming industry.
The Age of Bhaarat Will Be India’s Global Project
Tara Gaming Chairman Nicolas Granatino stated that a high-budget game developed in India can be produced at a much lower cost compared to Western countries. He noted that a project that might reach $150 million in other markets could be completed for approximately 40% of that amount thanks to the country’s production advantages. The studio will still seek new investments and different funding sources to support the development process.
According to Granatino, India is yet to be fully explored in terms of game brands that can be used on a global scale. The fact that the country is home to approximately one-fifth of the world’s population creates both a large player market and a vast talent pool. The involvement of Indian developers in significant projects like Grand Theft Auto VI also demonstrates the growing technical expertise in the sector.
The studio is taking inspiration from the success of Black Myth: Wukong in introducing Chinese culture to the world. The success of the South Korean game Crimson Desert also showed that high-budget games drawing from local cultures can find a strong response in the international market. The Age of Bhaarat aims to follow a similar path, bringing India’s mythology, history, and visual identity to global players.
Tara Gaming believes that by leveraging AI tools and cost-effective production capabilities within the country, they can deliver AAA quality at a more accessible budget. However, cultural differences alone will not be enough for the project to succeed; gameplay, storytelling, and technical quality will also be decisive. The release date and platforms supported for The Age of Bhaarat have not yet been announced, but the team aims for the game to mark the beginning of a new era for India.
