Blood Message Releases New Story Trailer
Blood Message continues to attract attention as NetEase Games’ first AAA single-player game. Developed by 24 Entertainment Lin’an, the title has now been unveiled with a new three-minute story trailer. The trailer more clearly showcases the dramatic journey set during the late Tang Dynasty, the father-son theme, and the brutal war atmosphere. Furthermore, the game will be playable by the press for the first time at Summer Game Fest 2026 Play Days.
Blood Message Combines Eastern Storytelling with Hard Action
Blood Message is being developed with Unreal Engine 5 and aims to deliver a cinematic single-player action-adventure experience supported by the studio’s own tools. With its linear and story-driven structure, the game will take players on a more controlled, intense, and dramatic journey. NetEase’s positioning of this project as its first major AAA single-player game naturally raises expectations.
The story takes place in 848 AD, during the final years of the Tang Dynasty. Players take on the role of an unnamed messenger who must deliver a vital message that could determine the fate of his homeland. He is not alone on this journey; his son accompanies him. The pair will attempt to survive a perilous 1,000-mile route to Chang’an.
The new trailer suggests the game will focus not only on action but also on emotional storytelling. Themes such as family, loyalty, honor, sacrifice, and cultural identity appear to form the core of Blood Message. Deserts, wilderness areas, and deadly combat zones inspired by East and Central Asia make the journey’s atmosphere heavier and more impactful.
In terms of combat, stealth, survival, and realistic melee mechanics will be prominent. Players will battle enemy sieges, challenging terrain, and numerically superior threats. If NetEase can combine this cinematic storytelling with strong gameplay, Blood Message could be one of the most noteworthy single-player action-adventure projects of the year.
