CD Projekt Red Aims to Increase its Profit by $270 Million in 4 Years
CD Projekt Red has recently regained momentum, particularly with the success of Cyberpunk 2077 and the strength of the Witcher brand. Now, the company aims to take this momentum even further. The newly announced goals demonstrate that they are not only focused on releasing games but also on establishing a sustainable and large-scale growth plan.
What Do CD Projekt Red’s Profit Targets Mean?
CD Projekt Red aims to generate approximately PLN 1 billion, or roughly $270 million, in additional profit every four years. According to this plan, the company aims to reach a total net profit of PLN 5 billion (approximately $1.35 billion) by the end of the 2026–2029 period. The figures are quite ambitious, but considering the company’s performance in recent years, they don’t seem entirely unrealistic.
Behind this growth are new projects. The new Witcher trilogy and the sequel being developed in the Cyberpunk 2077 universe are considered the biggest pillars of these goals. In other words, CD Projekt Red is planning to grow through new content rather than simply focusing on “keeping old games selling.”
The company’s current performance supports these goals. A large portion of the PLN 2 billion profit target set for the 2023-2026 period has already been achieved. This shows that the plans are not just on paper, but that significant progress has been made. Of course, back catalog sales, meaning the continued strong sales of older games, also play a significant role.
Looking at the overall picture, it’s clear that CD Projekt Red will pursue a more aggressive growth strategy in the coming years. However, how much of these goals will be achieved will directly depend on the success of the new games to be released. The new Witcher projects and the Cyberpunk sequel are particularly central to the company’s ambitious plans.
